A Blind Author Publishing Update
Hello user,
We bet you've gotten quite a few emails from companies recently telling you they're changing their privacy policies. Hey, we are too! That's because the European Union is passing a new law all about privacy and data protection, and we want to make sure that the way we protect your data is in line with the new legislation. You can read all about what the law says and how we're updating our policies below, then you can scroll down to learn some amazing facts about the Internet, in true Blind Author fashion. We wouldn't want you to leave empty-handed!
GDPR: On May 25, 2018, the European Union (EU) is instituting a new data protection law known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The GDPR gives individuals in the EU additional control over how their data is used, including the rights to opt out, request copies of their data, and to have their data deleted. We've updated our Privacy Policy to reflect this new law.
Ease of Use: We've revamped the layout and added more thorough explanations to make it easier for you to understand our Privacy Policy. This includes details about the information we collect about you directly, through cookies, or through third parties, as well as explanations of the choices and control you have over your information.
And now... a few facts about Internet privacy:
The world's most common passwords are "123456" and "password." The best way to create a super-secure password is to make it longer, not necessarily more complex.
Pages accessible by search engine make up only 1 percent of the entire Internet. The rest is known as the Deep Web, and it mostly comprises emails, social media profiles, subscription sites like Netflix, and anything you need to fill out a form to access.
Someday, you might prove your identity with lasers shooting from your eyes. Forget fingerprint scanners — scientists have created a laser-emitting contact lens that could make iris scans more secure.
